Carmel Apple Cake
This is one of our favorite Autumn recipes.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 tsps soda
- 1 1/2 tsps cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 cups apples unpeeled and grated
Carmel Sauce
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients and grated apples to creamed mixture and mix.
- Bake in greased 9 x 13 pan for 45 minutes.
- While cake is baking, combine caramel sauce ingredients in medium sauce pan. Heat on low 10 to 15 minutes, stirring often. Do not boil.
